The meaning of I love you, the 4th BoBW Valentine compilation
In case you might not notice: I'll be off for a couple of days. I could write something about
Being in love and
Quality time, but actually it shouldn't be your concern where we're going.
In the meantime you can listen to some specially compiled love songs. And the ones I'm extremely fond of are "The meaning of I love you" by the Dutch Margriet Sjoerdsma, "Never give you up" by Raphael Saadiq and "I just gotta have you", the classic by Kashif.
So, you too try to say "I love you" to someone today. That is: today and any other day.
And what else do you do for Valentine Day? Presents? Special care? Or do you just ignore anything with hearts in the colour pink?

The 3rd BoBW Valentine compilation
Nobody ever said you need to follow the hype. Just try to bring back Valentine to his original proportions: pay some special attention to the ones you love. Simply send one your love.
This is a collection of love songs. Some are celebrating love, like the utterly happy "Hallelujah, I Love Her So" by Ray Charles. My absolute favorite at this moment!
Some talk about the fact that love not always ends well: for example the Belgian Viktor Lazlo, in the extremely melancholic "Canoe Rose".
But there's always something positive in every love story. Stephan Sulke looks back to discover the better moments in his affair with "Lotte".
So, say
"I love you" to someone today. Or tomorrow. Or any following day.

...and there's another BfBW compilation!
It is still within the concept of my favorite music (being jazz and funk) but this collection is conceived around a theme. Although the subject may be predictable, I hope the sixteen songs aren't. All tracks have something to do with love or Valentine...
And as usual one song is Belgian ("Mad about you" by Hooverphonic) and one of them is Dutch ("One moment your mind" by Total Touch). Have fun. And have a nice Valentine's Day!

Voor Valentijn? Sappig ondergoed
Agent Provocateur, het ultra sexy ondergoed-bedrijf opgezet door Joe Corré, zoon van Vivienne Westwood en Malcolm McLaren, en diens vrouw Serena Rees vierde in januari 2004 de tiende verjaardag van het gelijknamige sappige ondergoed label.
Ter ere van dit feit werd een CD uitgegeven met de intrigerende titel 'Peep Show'. Dertien nummers telt het schijfje en ze zijn geschreven en geproduceerd door Corré en muzikant Luca Mainardi. Het merendeel van de uitvoerende artiesten is onbekend vocaal talent, gevonden middels een zoektocht onder Londense strippers.
Gastvocalist Siobhan Fahey (Bananarama, Shakespeare's Sister) draagt bij met een cover van Joy Division's She's Lost Control'.
Andere titels hebben namen als Oooh aaah, Star Stripper en Bikini. Het mag dan ook geen wonder heten dat Agent Provocateur belooft dat het album de luisteraar prikkelt, bekoort en opwindt, net als de andere, beter bekende producten van de firma het afgelopen tien jaar hebben gedaan. De CD is alleen in Britse zaken verkrijgbaar.
