Jerman Jazz
Jazzanova is een uit Berlijn afkomstig collectief dat bestaat uit het Jazzanova DJ-team en een drietal producers met een voorliefde voor deep jazz en modern beats..Dit collectief bestaat al sinds 1995 en heeft inmiddels al aardig wat bekendheid gekregen! Met hun sets proberen ze, vooral voor jongeren, “de poort naar de wereld van de jazz te openen met een toegankelijk compilatie”, aldus Jazzanova.
Hun liefde voor jazz en moderne beats leidt tot een bijna overweldigende mix van retro en nieuwe sounds, van hiphop of afrofunk tot drum 'n' bass, boogie, brazil, latin en soul...
Ze hebben ondertussen ruim een dozijn albums uitgebracht, waarvan twee voor het prestigieuze Blue Note Records. Hoewel ze begonnen zijn met uitsluitend oude jazzplaten, combineren ze nu verschillende stijlen met een nog creatiever effect.

Jazzanova - remixedRemixed is de ultieme relaxplaat. Het album is een dubbel-CD met maar liefst 23 remixen (door allemaal andere artiesten) van nummers van het laatste album van Jazzanova, In between. Nummers variëren in stijl van stoere hip-hop (dj DSL) tot zonnige bossa nova (Stereolab) en van 'Will Smith R&B' (Jazzy Jeff) tot broken afrobeat (Domu).
Een paar missers (van onder andere King Britt) hinderen niet echt bij het relaxen, hoogstens bij het aandachtig luisteren. Remixed is al met al een verfrissend project, met een fijne balans tussen easy-listening en iets minder easy-listening.
