Bonjour et au revoir Simone

Au Revoir Simone is een indierockband uit Brooklyn, New York. De band werd gesticht in 2003, en bestaat uit Erika Forster (vocals/keyboard), Annie Hart (vocals/keyboard) en Heather D’Angelo (vocals/drum machine/keyboard).

De naam van de band is afgeleid van een bijrolletje uit de Tim Burton-film "Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure".
De drie meiden brengen lichtvoetige popdeuntjes die sober worden begeleid met drie keyboards en een eenzame tamboerijn of drum. Soms klinkt dat een beetje seutig... 't Is maar wat je leuk vindt.
Hun debuut, het mini-album ‘Verses of Comfort, Assurance, and Salvation’ (2005) werd in 2007 opgevolgd door ‘The Bird of Music’. In 2009 verscheen 'Still Night, Still Light'.

De band kwam onder de aandacht, mede door een video-special van Vincent Moon, de Franse filmregisseur van videoclips, documentaires en experimentele films.
