De Britse acteur Hugh Laurie speelt Dr. Gregory House, een medisch genie dat een team van jonge diagnostici leidt. Hij is erg bot en onbehouwen en zou het liefst alle contact met zijn patiënten vermijden. Hij behandelt ziekten en geeb mensen. Zijn directe manier van communiceren en cynische opmerkingen maken het voor veel mensen moeilijk om met hem om te gaan.
Een anagram voor 'Gregory House' is 'Huge ego, sorry'. Toeval?
De titelsong van de succesreeks is 'Teardrop' van Massive Attack. Maar niet helemaal.
