Koste wat kost: Best of Costes

In bijna tien jaar tijd heeft Stéphane Pompougnac (1968) het Hôtel Costes in Parijse een aparte internationale uitstraling bezorgd. Het begon allemaal braaf met zijn mixes van loungemuziek voor het hotel-restaurant, na gedraaid te hebben voor het inmiddels gesloten Café Costes, les Bains, de Queen, Privilège en andere Parijse branché pleisterplaatsen. Snel werd Pompougnacs vaardigheid om ‘propere’ mixages af te leveren van een bundeltje covers, van house tot pop, legendarisch. Er kwam een CD "Hôtel Costes", een tweede, een derde...
Het publiek kon zijn muziek wel smaken en de compilatie-CD's “Hôtel Costes mixed by Stéphane Pompougnac” veroverden de lounge-wereld. De naam van het hotel werd een heus begrip en hôtel costes-feestjes worden nu over de hele wereld georganiseerd.


Stéphane Pompougnac is één van de favoriete DJ's op Gucci-feestjes en hij heeft met Madonna samengewerkt voor de remix van “What if feels like for a girl”...
En inmiddels componeert Pompougnac ook zelf. Zijn werk staat parmantig naast Shirley Bassey, Smooth, Djako, Demon Ritchie en anderen. Alle CD’s samen waren al goed voor ruim drie miljoen verkochte schijfjes.
