Music Of A Good Girl Gone Bad like Rihanna

De R&B zangeres Rihanna (Robyn Rihanna Fenty, 18 februari 1988, Barbados) maakte kennis met producer Evan Rogers, die met zijn vrouw op vakantie was in Barbados. Rogers hielp Rihanna samen met zijn partner Carl Sturken om demo-materiaal op te nemen, waaronder de hit Pon de Replay uit 2005. De demo's werden naar verschillende platenmaatschappijen gestuurd, waaronder Def Jam Recordings, waar Rihanna uiteindelijk tekende.

Rihanna's muzikale inspiratie is onder andere Alicia Keys maar haar voornaamste invloeden zijn reggae- en dancehall-muziek. En a propos samples uit the eighties: luister naar de  single "S.O.S." (Madonna, eat your heart out!)
