Easy Star All-Stars in dub-io

De Easy Star All-Stars is een collectief van reggaemuzikanten uit Brooklyn. De diverse bandleden hebben podium en studio gedeeld met artiesten als Gil-Scott-Heron, Burning Spear, The Toasters, Dennis Brown, MC Solaar, Bernie Worrell en Monty Alexander, en kan zich sinds het live-debuut in 2003 tot de top van de internationale reggae-scene rekenen. Het gezelschap bestaat uit een vaste kern van muzikanten dat op zowel album als podium wordt vergezeld door diverse gasten waaronder Michael Rose, Steel Pulse, Luciano en Sugar Minott.

De eigenzinnige band wordt ook gezien als huisband van het vermaarde Easy Star-label en heeft zich gespecialiseerd in het opnieuw inspelen van klassiekers als Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon of Radiohead's OK Computer. Maar dan wel in een reggae-, dub- en dancehall-jasje. Zowel Dub Side Of The Moon als het album Radiodread kenden een groot succes waardoor een vervolg niet kon uitblijven.

Op Easy Star's Lonely Hearts Dub Band wordt het legendarische Beatles-album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band onder handen genomen.
